This iconic work, originally created in 1990, features a large glass vitrine divided into two chambers: one containing a rotting cow's head, the other swarming with flies and maggots. The life cycle unfolds as maggots hatch, feed on the head, and eventually die on an electric fly-killer. Hirst's daring use of organic materials challenges traditional art forms, inviting viewers to confront mortality, decay, and the fragile boundary between life and death. Now, you can own a piece of this provocative masterpiece with our museum-quality framed poster, meticulously reproduced to capture every detail of the original installation.

Why This Artwork Resonates

A Thousand Years is a quintessential example of Hirst's exploration of the Young British Artists (YBA) movement, which shook the art world in the 1990s.
